We have a product for
every budget and need from 2 man portables to 75 HP Eurovac III systems
for large production shops. The following are some of the benefits of a
dust extraction system:
LESS STAFF TURN OVER...EASIER TO HIRE AND KEEP GOOD TECHNICIANS...This is the major benefit shop owners report after buying a dust extraction system. Once used to a clean environment it is difficult to return to a "dust mill". Replacing people is expensive, how often do you have a change? How difficult is it to find good body men? REDUCED LIABILITY...Reduces your company’s liability from employees suing your company if they contact any kind of breathing ailments. PAYS FOR ITSELF...Sandpaper costs should be reduced by 30%-40% because the sandpaper lasts longer when the sanding dust is not allowed to build up on the sanding discs. Most sandpaper is thrown away blocked not worn. REDUCED CLEAN UP COSTS...Body filler and paint sanding are the main causes of dust. Clean up is constant and expensive and sweeping puts a lot of settled dust back into circulation. Your body men could vacuum their bays each day. REDUCED PAINT REPAIR AND RE-PAINTS...Reduces the risk of sanding dust getting in paint jobs. If sanding dust is not picked up at the source, the dust has a way of getting into the paint booths even with down draft paint booths and filtered clean air. BETTER PAINT JOBS...By vacuuming away sanding dust, the sanding discs have little build up of grit which causes swirl marks. MORE BUSINESS...It is a proven fact that customers prefer to leave their cars in a clean shop, they don’t want them covered in dust. They can make a comparison when shopping for estimates! How many of your estimates do not return? TOOLS...A vacuum system is only as good as the dustless sanding tools. It is most important that you buy new vacuum ready tools or have your existing tools converted to vacuum ready tools. Most North American tool manufacturers make their orbital and straight line sanding tools in both vacuum and non-vacuum models. The parts are usually interchangeable so you can usually convert your existing tools so they are the same as they would be if you bought a new vacuum tool. As well, there are some universal conversion kits available which work quite well. If you are buying new tools in anticipation of getting a vacuum system make sure you buy "vacuum ready" tools as opposed to "vacuum assist" tools. Vacuum assist tools which produce a vacuum by a venturi effect from the compressed air are not as effective as vacuum ready tools which have a much larger vacuum take-off to take away the sanding dust. A lot of shops don’t realize that vacuum hand sanders and vacuum grinders are available. If you use grinders to strip paint conversion kits are available with holes in the pad and sanding discs. For higher speed grinders, shrouds are available.
